The Final of the Water Cube Cup was held in Mersch on Monday 29 June, and was won by Esther Lau, with Lucia Colombo coming second.
The two will now go to Beijing on 20 July to represent the colours of Luxembourg, with the big final being held on 3 August and broadcasted on CCTV, the largest Chinese television chain.
Organised by the Centre de Langue et de Culture Chinoises du Luxembourg (CLCCL), the Luxembourg semi-finals were held on 24 June to select the 10 finalists to perform on Monday. This year is the first time the international event has been organised in Luxembourg.
The President of the organisation is Mr. Pan Lipin with the Jury composed of Mrs. Zhang Yi, Mrs. Fang Lin, Mr. Sun Tinghua, Mr. Chen Xijun and Mr. Liang Haoxing. His Excellency ZENG Xianqi, the Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg, and his spouse also attended, as did the First Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Luxembourg.
