The City of Luxembourg has reported that it recently welcomed a delegation from the Luxembourg-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (LUCC) at Luxembourg City Hall for an informal visit and to discuss various topics.

The City of Luxembourg was represented by First Alderman Maurice Bauer. The Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Luxembourg, Claude Radoux, was present, together with members of the Municipal Council of the City of Luxembourg, representatives of the municipality of Strassen and of Ukrainescht Haus Stroossen, and the mayors and other political representatives of the Ukranian cities of Bucha, Lviv, Lyman and Skadovsk.

Ukrainescht Haus Stroossen is an initiative of the municipality of Strassen aimed at providing Ukrainian refugees with a place where they can meet and spend time together.

Established in Luxembourg in October 2017, the Luxembourg-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce promotes business relations between Ukraine and Luxembourg.

Topics on the agenda of the meeting on Tuesday 12 November 2024 included the humanitarian aid provided by the City of Luxembourg to Ukraine and the municipal cooperation between Luxembourg City and Ukraine. The development of the Smart City concept (where traditional networks and services are made more efficient with the use of digital solutions for the benefit of its inhabitants and businesses) in both countries, as well as the sustainable development of municipalities using new digital technologies, was also discussed.
