The Automobile Club Luxembourg (ACL) has announced that it is offering complementary tyre and lights checks as part of the "Light and Tyre Campaign" which will start on Monday 16 October 2017.
Tyres and car lights are among the key safety features and deserve more attention than ever before. To approach the winter safely, every driver can have the tyres and the lights of their vehicle checked free of charge. The ACL-Diagnostic Center technicians will not simply check the tyre profile, but will inform the driver of the actual condition, its age, or irregular wear.
Note: while the minimum depth of the tyre thread is legally 1.6 mm, the ACL recommends, for safety reasons, not to go below 4 mm. Winter tyres are mandatory in case of winter conditions (ice, packed snow, melting snow, ice or ice sheets) throughout the year.
If everything complies with the highway code, the motorist will be given a certificate of control for their vehicle.
The ACL will conduct the checks at its headquarters in Bertrange from Thursday 2 November until Friday 17 November 2017, from 08:30 to 18:00, except on Saturdays and Sundays. In parallel, as in previous years, the ACL will control lights and tyres in various other locations throughout Luxembourg (10:00 - 18:00), as follows:
16 Oct: Cactus Remich
17 Oct: Shopping-Center Massen à Wemperhardt
19 Oct: Cactus Mersch
24 Oct: Cactus Redange/Attert
25 Oct: Cactus Echternach
26 & 27 Oct: Cactus Kayl
02 Nov: Cactus Diekirch (Hobby)
03 & 06 Nov: Cactus Bascharage
10 Nov: Knauf Pommerlach
During the campaign, the ACL-Diagnostic Center in Bertrange (54 route de Longwy) is accessible to all motorists from Monday to Friday inclusive, non-stop, from 08:00 to 18:00. There are no checks at the CNVH in Diekirch.
