ALD Automotive Luxembourg, a leader in automobile leasing in the Grand Duchy, has presented its results for the 2020 financial year.
Despite the uncertain economic climate, last year saw ALD strengthen its position as a market leader (more than 30% of the Luxembourg market) while supporting customers in need.
In 2020, ALD focussed on three fundamental elements: support for customers suffering the full brunt of the effects of the crisis, innovation aimed at offering solutions more suited to the situation and the evaluation of customer satisfaction with the aim of proximity and constant improvement.
“A significant number of companies have approached us during this unusual year: their requests did not relate only to financial difficulties, they also related to changing mobility needs, to the difficulty of making choices in the face of a changing automotive offer", explained Dominique Roger, General Manager of ALD Luxembourg. "This is why we have worked at several levels in order to expand our services as well as possible and as quickly as possible".
In light of the impact of the crisis on customers and especially small businesses, ALD implemented solutions to reduce the rental charge or significantly ease the terms of payment. The company reviewed more than 1,100 contracts with the aim of reducing rental costs, while 85 clients have benefited from the implementation of specific 24-month payment plans.
Despite the crisis, ALD also demonstrated its capacity for innovation. Gerrit Canipel, Sales Director of ALD, noted: “We quickly realised that the situation was going to get complicated for our customers but we have to move forward, even in the uncertainty, that's why we launched the ALD Flex offer; it provides a set of flexible rental services from 1 day to 24 months, a unique offer on the market considering the variety of vehicles offered". He also mentioned the launch of ALD Second life, which makes it possible to take out an operational leasing contract at a lower cost by relying on used vehicles.
On the subject of customer surveys, Carlos Campos, Director of Operations, commented: “The opinions of our customers and their drivers are very important to us. They allow us to constantly adjust our system and our services. We measure the effects of this approach through our quality surveys. When we observe a Net Promotor Score of 55.4 with decision-makers or a satisfaction rate of 88% with drivers, this greatly motivates the teams, who mobilise even more".
With its strategic plan "Move2025", its Made in Luxembourg-labelled value chain and its commitments to social and environmental responsibility, ALD Luxembourg expressed confidence for the future. Dominique Roger stated: “We will be present on all the mobility solutions necessary for companies, from bicycles to utility vehicles, in operational leasing, in shared mobility or in flexible rental. Whether in our Car Center in Kehlen or at the head office in Strassen, we are fortunate to be able to rely on great employees and a solid corporate culture to guarantee a first-rate customer experience, this is the best guarantee for the future!" He added: “We will also continue to have a strong commitment to social responsibility; in 2020 ALD Automotive Luxembourg obtained the highly prized international Ecovadis Platinum label, another sign that the company is meeting its commitments in this area".
Despite a complicated and uncertain situation, the ALD Luxembourg fleet closed the 2020 financial year well above the symbolic milestone of 15,000 units, with 14,135 operational leasing contracts in addition to a fleet of 924 cars and utility vehicles available to ALD Flex, the entity in charge of short- and medium-term rentals.
