On Wednesday 6 December 2023, Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works reported that an "amicable agreement" had been reached regarding the extension of the tram to Cloche d'Or.

Luxembourg's Minister for Mobility and Public Works, Yuriko Backes, has announced that an amicable agreement was reached in the case between Olos Fund and the Luxembourg State relating to the Grand Ducal Decree of 5 March 2021 declaring the works relating to the construction of the Howald interchange hub and the redevelopment of Rue des Scillas to be of public utility.

This agreement concerns the allocation of part of plot number 1302/6451 of section A of Hesperange to the construction of road infrastructure and public facilities as part of the extension of the tram to the Cloche d'Or district.

Consequently, work relating to the tram infrastructure allowing its two-track crossing at Howald station will be able to begin shortly. For tram users, this doubling of the tracks will ensure an increase in the speed of the tram between Cloche d'Or and Bonnevoie in Luxembourg City, noted the ministry.
