On Thursday 24 September 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Mobility and Public Works and the Public Transport Administration (ATP) announced the rollout of new signs equipped with QR codes at bus stops across the Grand Duchy.
According to the ATP, the rollout is part of its plans to modernise passenger information and, as part of a progressive process, almost all stops on the national network will be equipped with this system in the coming weeks, providing direct access to real-time information.
A simple, accessible solution with no download required
By scanning the QR code displayed at the bus stop with a smartphone, passengers can access a dedicated page for the relevant stop and can consult upcoming departures, updated timetables and any network disruptions.
The ATP says this practical and intuitive solution complements existing information tools, including the mobiliteit.lu app, without requiring a prior download. Designed to make information easier to access, the signs clearly display the name of the stop, the relevant platform and the words “upcoming departures”.
A coordinated rollout across the national territory
The ATP says that to ensure optimal visibility, the signs (20 × 20 cm) are installed at eye level directly on the poles supporting the bus stop signs, where technical conditions permit.
The project is being carried out in close cooperation with Luxembourg's municipalities, key partners in the rollout on the ground. To support the launch of the system and encourage its adoption by the public, the ATP will conduct a joint information campaign with the municipalities in the coming weeks.
By making travel information easier to access directly at bus stops, the ATP said it is continuing its commitment to providing information that is simpler, more accessible and increasingly responsive to the everyday needs of passengers.
