Luxembourg's Minister of Mobility and Public Works, François Bausch, presented yesterday #Modu 2.0 - A Multimodal Strategy at the Shift Mobility 2020 conference in Berlin, Germany.

Minister François Bausch was one of the keynote speakers at the Shift Mobility 2020 conference, which consisted of a series of individual lectures and discussions on current mobility issues. These lectures provide insights and ideas on how future mobility can change people's lives, thoughts and movements.

Luxembourg's Mobility Minister took part in the second session, entitled "Smart Environments - Urban Future and Mobility Infrastructures", as the main speaker and presented #Modu 2.0 - A Multimodal Strategy. The focus of his presentation was the motto "Transporting people, not vehicles", which is why he paid particular attention to Luxembourg's investments in the expansion of a multimodal transport infrastructure.

As already requested in his open letter to the European Transport Commissioner Adina Vălean, Minister François Bausch once again stressed the need for a massive investment in the expansion of the European rail network.

In order to discuss his visions and concepts for the future in more detail with his fellow speakers, Minister François Bausch then took part in the round table discussion "Think Globally, Act Locally - Does Smart Technology Enhance Future-Proof Mobility and Make Our Cities More Livable Places?". He emphasised that "[n]ew urban mobility systems offer excellent options for redesigning public space so that it belongs to the people again".
