On Wednesday 30 March 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 1,709 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 1,035 fatalities (no new deaths since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.
1,709 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 4,411 tests carried out the day before, representing 269.25 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 38.78%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a seven-day period) is currently 1457.86.
A total of 25 people are in hospital with the virus, including four patients in intensive care.
There are currently 19,389 active infections known, whilst a total of 193,675 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.08.
A total of 1,274,980 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (479,523 first doses, 430,548 second doses, 364,909 additional doses). A total of 472,050 people are now fully vaccinated.
The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 240.36; for vaccinated individuals, this was 280.15. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
