On Friday 25 March 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 2,146 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 1,025 fatalities (two new deaths since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.

2,146 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 4,917 tests carried out the day before, representing 150.93 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 34.84%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.

The average daily increase (over a seven-day period) is currently 1282.29. 

A total of 37 people are in hospital with the virus, including three patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 17,356 active infections known, whilst a total of 189,841 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.26.

A total of 1,273,931 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (479,440 first doses, 430,218 second doses, 364,273 additional doses). A total of 471,719 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 304.89; for vaccinated individuals, this was 350.44. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
