On Wednesday 23 March 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 1,284 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 1,019 fatalities (no new deaths since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.

1,284 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 3,910 tests carried out the day before, representing 202.29 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 32.85%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 1079.00. 

A total of 37 people are in hospital with the virus, including four patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 15,244 active infections known, whilst a total of 187,598 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.03.

A total of 1,273,451 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (479,394 first doses, 430,084 second doses, 363,973 additional doses). A total of 471,580 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 231.81; for vaccinated individuals, this was 191.12. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
