On Tuesday 22 March 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 847 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 1,019 fatalities (four new deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.

847 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 2,973 tests carried out the day before, representing 133.44 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 28.52%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.

The average daily increase (over a seven-day period) is currently 1102.71. 

A total of 42 people are in hospital with the virus, including four patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 14,747 active infections known, whilst a total of 186,811 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.13.

A total of 1,273,008 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (479,347 first doses, 429,928 second doses, 363,733 additional doses). A total of 471,423 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 134.15; for vaccinated individuals, this was 133.17. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
