On Friday 11 March 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 958 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 1,004 fatalities (no new deaths since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.
958 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 2,753 tests carried out the day before, representing 150.93 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 34.84%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a seven-day period) is currently 800.00.
A total of 38 people are in hospital with the virus, including four patients in intensive care.
There are currently 10,882 active infections known, whilst a total of 180,078 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.16.
A total of 1,269,843 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (479,119 first doses, 428,726 second doses, 361,998 additional doses). A total of 470,216 people are now fully vaccinated.
The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 138.95; for vaccinated individuals, this was 155.51. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
