On Friday 4 March 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 653 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 996 fatalities (one new death since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.

653 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 2,535 tests carried out the day before, representing 102.88 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 25.78%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.

The average daily increase (over a seven-day period) is currently 636.71. 

A total of 30 people are in hospital with the virus, including five patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 9,759 active infections known, whilst a total of 175,605 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.00.

A total of 1,267,066 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (478,826 first doses, 427,873 second doses, 360,367 additional doses). A total of 469,360 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 120.15; for vaccinated individuals, this was 96.23. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
