On Tuesday 1 March 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 625 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 992 fatalities (one new death since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.

625 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 2,545 tests carried out the day before, representing 98.47 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 24.57%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 642.43. 

A total of 27 people are in hospital with the virus, including six patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 9,082 active infections known, whilst a total of 173,728 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.01.

A total of 1,264,971 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (478,532 first doses, 427,207 second doses, 359,232 additional doses). A total of 468,692 people are now fully vaccinated.

The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 117.45; for vaccinated individuals, this was 91.12. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
