On Tuesday 16 November 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 129 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 859 fatalities (no new deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.

129 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 2,535 tests carried out the day before, representing 20.32 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 5.09%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 135.43. 

A total of 54 people are in hospital with the virus, including twelve patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 2,715 active infections known, whilst a total of 81,292 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.02.

A total of 861,331 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (441,337 first doses, 381,888 second doses, 38,106 additional doses). A total of 421,879 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
