On Thursday 4 November 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 432 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 849 fatalities (one new death since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.

432 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 4,569 tests carried out the day before, representing 68.06 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 9.46%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 160.0. 

A total of 43 people are in hospital with the virus, including thirteen patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 2,220 active infections known, whilst a total of 79,554 people have recovered from the virus to dateThe effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.68.

A total of 838,598 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (435,658 first doses, 377,688 second doses and 25,252 third doses). A total of 417,325 people are now fully vaccinated.

The Ministry of Health noted that these figures have been updated to include the booster shots offered recently to vulnerable individuals having already received two doses and those having received the single-dose Janssen vaccine.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
