On Friday 23 July 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 103 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 821 fatalities (no new deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.

103 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 7,194 tests carried out the day before, representing 16.23 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.43%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 62.00. 

A total of 20 people are in hospital with the virus, including five patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Thursday 22 July 2021, there are currently 1,474 active infections known, whilst a total of 71,117 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.92.

A total of 674,147 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (389,229 first doses, 284,918 second doses); 664 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 3,716 received their second dose on Thursday. A total of 313,511 people are now fully vaccinated.

The Health Ministry no longer communicates data relating to COVID-19 on weekends.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
