On Thursday 15 July 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 123 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 819 fatalities (no new deaths since 6 July) resulting from the virus to date.

123 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 8,725 tests carried out the day before, representing 19.38 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.41%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 73.43. 

A total of eleven people are in hospital with the virus, including four patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Wednesday 14 July 2021, there are 1,772 active infections known, whilst a total of 70,041 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg currently stands at 0.88.

A total of 633,974 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (379,830 first doses, 254,144 second doses); 2,537 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 5,147 received their second dose on Wednesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
