On Tuesday 11 May 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 121 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 806 fatalities (no new deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.

121 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 10,012 tests carried out the day before, representing 19.06 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.21%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 107.71. 

A total of 82 people are in hospital with the virus, including 30 patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Monday 10 May 2021, there are currently 2,233 active infections known, whilst a total of 65,513 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.96.

As of Monday, a total of 248,492 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (179,434 first doses, 69,058 second doses); 4,310 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 2,914 received their second dose on Monday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
