On Thursday 16 July 2026, Luxembourg's FC Differdange 03 and FC Mondorf-les-Bains played their away second-leg matches in the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round against Finland's Ilves and Georgia's Dinamo Tbilisi, respectively.
After suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat in the first leg at home, FC Mondorf-les-Bains produced another disciplined performance away to Dinamo Tbilisi at the Mikheil Meskhi I Stadium. Martin Forkel's team withstood sustained pressure for long spells but remained dangerous going forward, restricting the Georgian hosts to twelve attempts while creating 20 of their own. Mondorf also registered four shots on target to Dinamo's five and earned eight corners, underlining their competitive display despite facing one of the favourites in the tie.
Dinamo Tbilisi had a golden opportunity to take the lead in the 65th minute when forward Algassime Bah stepped up to take a penalty, but he sent his effort wide of the target. As extra time appeared inevitable, FC Mondorf-les-Bains struck in dramatic fashion. Midfielder Clément Couturier finished from close range after being set up by Mehdi Kirch, giving the Luxembourg team a 1-0 lead late in normal time and levelling the tie on aggregate.
The match went to extra time, where the Georgian side eventually restored parity. Nika Ninua found the net in the 111th minute to make it 1-1 on the night, and Martin Forkel's team were unable to find another breakthrough. Dinamo Tbilisi therefore progressed to the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round with a 3-2 aggregate victory.
FC Differdange 03 also exited the competition on Thursday evening. After drawing 0-0 with Ilves in the first leg in Luxembourg, Pedro Resende's team took the lead in Tampere just before half-time when Sebastian Thill converted an Elison Rivas assist.
Ilves responded strongly after the restart. Yiandro Raap equalised before Jardell Kanga turned the tie in the Finnish side's favour midway through the second half. The match also saw three red cards in the 70th minute, with Raap dismissed for the hosts, while Juan Bedouret and Gustavo Vintecinco were both sent off for Differdange.
Roope Riski added a third goal late in the match to seal a 3-1 victory for Ilves, sending the Finnish club through to the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round.
