On Tuesday 4 May 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 147 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 800 fatalities (no new deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.
147 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 7,045 tests carried out the day before, representing 23.16 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.09%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 135.14. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.
A total of 97 people are in hospital with the virus, including 32 patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Monday 3 May 2021, there are currently 2,582 active infections known, whilst a total of 64,260 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.91.
As of Monday, a total of 206,707 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg (152,149 first doses, 54,558 second doses); 3,698 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 2,454 received their second dose on Monday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
