On Monday 12 April 2021, Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Romain Schneider, in his capacity as acting Minister of Health, visited the new vaccination centre housed in the hangar of Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) in Findel, in the municipality of Sandweiler, which opened that same day.

The opening of this vaccination centre brings the maximum number of vaccination queues that can be operated to 64. Weekly vaccination capacities (open six days a week, including public holidays on weekdays or on Saturdays, from 07:00 to 19:00) currently amount to around 50,000 injections. Currently, six queues are open and 20 to 25 people work permanently at the centre.

The procedure and opening hours are the same as for other vaccination centres. Invitations to get vaccinated are sent via post to concerned individuals at each successive phase of the vaccine rollout.

In the vaccination centre, the passage of the person to be vaccinated comprises five stages, namely:

- Reception: the person arrives at the vaccination centre and his / her appointment is checked by security personnel. In order to respect barrier gestures and avoid queues, it is important to respect the time of your appointment

- Registration: the individual goes to registration which is carried out by agents of the Customs and Excise Agency, the Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps and the Army. A patient file is created from the bar code appearing on the invitation or the individual's social security card

- Waiting: the individual is directed to the waiting area where the flow of people is managed by municipal officers who invite them to join a vaccination queue

- Vaccination: if the individual answered “yes” to one of the questions on the form when making an appointment, they will have a consultation with a doctor before being vaccinated. Otherwise, he / she will be vaccinated immediately. The vaccinated individual will receive their vaccination certificate and, if necessary, the date of their second appointment

- Rest: the individual can go to a rest area after vaccination. This area is monitored by first-aiders from the Grand-Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps.
