Grand Ducal Police officers undertake targeted checks on public transport in Luxembourg City;

On Tuesday 29 September 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that it had undertaken a series of targeted checks on public transport in Luxembourg City on Friday 25 September.
According to the police, the checks, which took place across Friday afternoon and evening, focused on tram services between the Luxembourg Central Station and Place de l’Étoile.
As part of the operation, twelve people were checked. Among other things, a report was drawn up on suspicion of handling stolen goods. In addition, six high-value perfumes were seized, the origin of which is the subject of further investigation.
The police stated that the purpose of the operation was to increase police presence on public transport, prevent pickpocketing and contribute to safety at stops and in their immediate surroundings.
A total of nine police officers took part in the operation.
