On Thursday 3 September 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that a man has died following an incident at a swimming pool in Dudelange on Wednesday 2 September.
According to the police, at approximately 16:25 on Wednesday they were informed of a medical emergency at a swimming pool in Dudelange. According to initial findings, a man was found unresponsive in a swimming pool. Swimming pool staff removed the man from the water and began administering first aid. Emergency medical services and an emergency doctor subsequently continued resuscitation efforts and the man was taken to hospital in critical condition.
The police began initial investigations at the scene into the exact circumstances of the incident.
On Thursday morning, the police were notified that the man had died in hospital.
