The European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation Carlos Moedas will pay a working visit to Luxembourg on Thursday 6 July 2017.

The Commissioner will be welcomed by the Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, at the Hotel de Bourgogne, for a working meeting. The discussions will focus on the main issues of current European political affairs and topics related to the EU's Horizon 2020 program, the new law on aid schemes for research, development and innovation, as well as Luxembourg's performance in terms of innovation.

Moreover, as part of the 30th anniversary of the Erasmus + programme, Carlos Moedas will deliver the keynote speech of the conference entitled "Mobility: a vehicle for European citizenship". The introductory speech will be delivered by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel.

Carlos Moedas will also be welcomed by the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Mars Di Bartolomeo, and the Chairman of the Committee of the Economy, Franz Fayot, in the Chamber of Deputies. He will then meet with members of the Committee on the Economy, the Committee on Higher Education, Research, the Media, Communications and Space as well as members of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs.
