Twenty-one pianos, one of which will be mobile, are set to be installed in the streets, tourist areas, popular districts and parks of Luxembourg’s capital, ready to brighten up the space both visually and aurally.
My Urban Piano is designed to encourage the public to improvise micro-concerts, the pianos were decorated by different schools, youth centres and scout groups from the city.
The official launch, hosted by The College of Mayors and Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg City Tourist Office, will be at 16:00 in front of the Cercle building in the Place d’Armes on 1 June, when young pianist Charel Hoffmann will interpret the piano pieces "Love" and "Night of Tears" by David Ianni.
