Luxembourgers can take advantage of a new opportunity to show off their favourite parts and haunts of Luxembourg under a new programme, “Guide for one Day”, launched by Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Francine Closener today.
The visits are scheduled to start on 23 June and cover the themes of neighbourhood life, nightlife, shopping, heritage and history, Luxembourg markets, cafés and gastronomy, and sports and leisure.
Volunteers wishing to become ambassadors of their own country have until 9 June to register, on: www.guideforoneday.lu, where they can describe their idea and give all useful information.
The personalised visits organised by the volunteers will normally take one and a half hours and will take place between 23 June and 9 July 2017 in the language chosen by the guide. Visits are open to a maximum of 10 people who confirm their participation by registering on www.guideforoneday.lu which will be available in French, German, English and Luxembourgish.
Secretary Closener said, "As we approach the national holiday, I invite all those who live or work in Luxembourg to get involved in this project as ambassador of the Grand Duchy or as a visitor.
“Federating the country's signature at the national level, the "Guide for one day" project brings Luxembourg into all its facets and fits perfectly into the participatory spirit adopted from the very beginning as part of the Nation Branding process.
