On Wednesday 7 October 2026, Mansogroup announced the recent opening of its latest restaurant concept in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, Coco Rico – The House of Churrasco, inspired by the Algarve’s iconic Frango da Guia grilled chicken.

Officially opened on Saturday 3 October 2026, the restaurant aims to bring Portuguese-style grilled chicken to Luxembourg, using fresh chickens delivered from Portugal several times a week.

Located at 37A Avenue John F Kennedy, near the Bibliothèque Nationale tram stop, Coco Rico is the 13th restaurant concept developed by Mansogroup.

The chicken is grilled rather than fried and served with a choice of marinades inspired by Portuguese tradition. Accompaniments include “batatas a murro”, Portuguese-style smashed potatoes.

For Rémy Manso, Founder & Director of Mansogroup, Coco Rico is the realisation of a long-standing personal dream. Originally from Castelo Branco, he has always had a particular passion for grilled chicken, a dish also traditionally served in his region with “batatas a murro”, explained the Mansgroup.

For Rémy Manso, Founder and Director of Mansogroup, Coco Rico is the realisation of a long-standing idea. The concept developed together with Chef Vítor Pereira, who previously worked at several Mansogroup restaurants and gained experience in a churrascaria in Portugal.

Manso said a recent family holiday in the Algarve, during which he visited several restaurants and tried different versions of grilled chicken, further inspired the concept.

“We no longer need to come to the Algarve to have a good Franguinho da Guia — now we also have it in Luxembourg,” he said.

As Yannis Xydias, Managing Director & Co-Owner of Mansogroup, added: “We wanted to create a concept that is very popular, affordable and brings people together. A mid-market dining concept that gives clients more choice. We also want to attract the Portuguese community and chicken lovers. And now, we can serve some of the best grilled chicken in Luxembourg.”

The restaurant offers two marinades, a classic and a spicy option, as well as a boneless chicken version. Beyond chicken, the menu includes fifteen additional meat and fish dishes, including “bitoque” and “bacalao”, alongside grilled specialities, fresh salads and traditional Portuguese desserts.

Frango da Guia is associated with the Algarve, particularly the town of Guia, where grilled chicken has become a well-known local speciality. The name “Coco Rico” refers to the crowing of a rooster, which also inspired the restaurant’s visual identity and decoration.
