On Thursday 3 September 2026, LUNEX University of Applied Sciences, based in Differdange, announced a new partnership with the National Institute of Physical Activity and Sports (INAPS) aimed at strengthening cooperation in sport, physical activity and professional education in Luxembourg.
According to LUNEX, INAPS contributes to the development of sport and physical activity in Luxembourg through education, professional development, research and support for the sports sector. The partnership is intended to support knowledge exchange, professionals working in the field and initiatives linked to a more active and healthy society.
The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Mihaela Bozonca, Director of Resources and Services at LUNEX, and Charles Stelmes, Director of INAPS. Dr Ana Isabel Aranda Pérez, Senior Lecturer at LUNEX, coordinated the partnership, while Dr Sandra Heck, part of the Executive Leadership Team at INAPS, supported the collaboration on behalf of the institute.
The signing of the MoU marks an "important milestone" in a relationship that has developed over several years. Prof Dr Rudi Balling, Academic Director at LUNEX, has also been involved in developing and strengthening links between the two institutions.
The partnership provides a framework for LUNEX and INAPS to explore opportunities in knowledge exchange, professional development, research and joint initiatives in the fields of sport and physical activity. It is also expected to support closer links between academic education, research and professional practice in Luxembourg.
LUNEX added that several projects are already in the pipeline, with further initiatives planned between the two institutions to strengthen cooperation and contribute to the development of knowledge and expertise in sport and physical activity in Luxembourg.
