The LCGB trade union recently signed an extension of the collective agreement with the management of Zeeman Luxembourg SàrI.

The agreement will be valid for a period of one year, from 1 January to 31 December 2022 inclusive. According to the LCGB, the negotiations, conducted within the framework of social dialogue, were constructive and led to the following results, among others:

• additional leave according to seniority;
• extension of the maximum limit of four hours of Sunday work. Any service beyond four hours is done on a voluntary basis;
• on an exceptional and emergency basis, employees may go once a year to a medical appointment with continued salary during working hours;
• introduction of an article which stipulates an obligation by mutual agreement in the event of a change of store;
• abolition of the order of priority for leave requests during the summer period.

Through this collective agreement, the Sunday work issue has been resolved for employees of Zeeman stores for years to come.
