Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy has confirmed that, from 1 July to 31 December 2020, forms for requesting partial unemployment for companies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Luxembourg are available online on Guichet.lu.

The company, or its agent (e.g. a trustee, fiduciary), must submit the request electronically through its professional space on the MyGuichet.lu platform. The person making the request needs a LuxTrust product (e.g. Token, Smartcard or Signing stick) or an electronic identity card. The online application form was developed by the Ministry of the Economy with the support of the State Information Technology Centre (CTIE).

Applying to all businesses during this period of economic recovery, the new partial unemployment scheme considers that certain sectors or economic branches have been more severely impacted than others and will therefore resume their level of activity from before the crisis at a later date, or maybe even will not succeed in the near future. The new procedures are detailed on Guichet.lu with a dedicated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section. A hotline accessible via tel: 8002-9191 operates every working day between 08:00 - 15:00 to answer questions relating to requests for short-time working linked to the economic recovery.

In view of these new procedures, the deadlines for submitting requests for partial unemployment have also been adjusted. The requests for the month of July 2020 must for example be made via MyGuichet.lu from 20 to 26 June 2020 inclusive, those for the month of August from 1 to 12 July inclusive. As a reminder, requests must be made every month.
