Four-time Grammy Award-winning American bassist, cellist and singer, Esperanza Spalding, will be performing latest release "Emily D+Evolution" for an audience at den Atelier on Sunday 3 July 2016.

The seven collaborative and five solo albums that Esperanza Spalding has created, as well as her lengthy list of accolades, are hardly surprising given that the Portland-born 31-year-old was a musical prodigy. For the 5-year-old Esperanza, her first "foray" into the art form consisted of the not-so-small feat of playing violin in the Chamber Music Society of Oregon, later teaching herself much of the talent that has seen her called to the stage to perform at the Oscars, the Nobel Prize Ceremony and the White House.

Grounded in but not bound to jazz traditions, Esperanza Spalding reaffirms the virtuosity and visionary capacity of her music through "Emily's D+Evolution". Esperanza will be performing her latest album at Den Atelier, incorporating for the first time stage design, movement and acting into her musical storytelling.

Doors will open at 20:00. Tickets cost €29 and can be purchased here
