Tango has announced plans to launch 5G for all of its mobile network customers on Friday 23 October 2020; the launch will follow that of POST Luxembourg's 5G network, which is scheduled for the week before (16 October).
Tango's new 5G network promises to offer download speeds of up to 1Gbit / s. From launch, all of Tango's mobile network customers will have direct access to the network within their current mobile subscription. To accompany this launch, Tango will be selling the latest iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, devices on which the telecoms provider's 5G network is already certified. Other certifications are also underway and customers will soon have a larger choice of 5G-enabled devices at their disposal.
Regarding coverage, at its inception, Tango's 5G network will cover Luxembourg City. It will then be deployed in the largest cities in the south of the country from the start of 2021, then in the rest of the country in order to quickly cover the largest population areas. The operator assured that current networks will continue to be maintained and developed.
Luis Camara, Chief Consumer Market Officer of Tango, commented: “Innovation and the democratisation of it are at the heart of our DNA. That's why I'm proud to be able to launch our 5G network for all of our customers. Enjoying the technology of the future is that easy with Tango".
