The Luxembourg Media and Communications Service (MSC) has launched a call for projects as part of the 5G National Strategy.

The call for projects covers all types of projects using the fifth generation of mobile communications (5G) or similar or related technologies. The purpose is to facilitate the emergence of innovative technologies and services that rely on a network that satisfies one or more of the characteristics of 5G.

These are:

  • Ultra-reliable communications with very low latency;
  • Ultra high speed connection with uniform quality of service;
  • Communications between a large number of objects with varied quality of service needs.

Any type of institution (private or public) is eligible to submit a project. Projects can be proposed by individuals or by groups within a consortium and can have a duration of 6 to 24 months.

An information session is scheduled for 23 July 2019. Interested parties are invited to register for this session, although attendance is not mandatory.

Projects must be submitted by noon on 30 September 2019.

The detailed criteria for possible support and contact details are published on the MSC website: https://gd.lu/1zMVnP.
