Luxembourg non-profit Women in Digital Empowerment (WIDE) and Huawei have announced that they are launching a new English-language online training programme aimed at inspiring more women to work in technology.
From 26 April to 21 May 2021, WIDE and Huawei are offering an online training programme called "New Tech Discovery with Huawei". It will provide four webinars and online courses introducing different topics related to information and communications technology (ICT).
A first course on Software Defined Networking (SDN) will present SDN basics and the limitations of traditional networks. It will also go through application scenarios, current development and trends, common SDN network solutions and Huawei SDN products. A second course will cover Data Centres (DC): concepts of data and DC, development history, latest trends in cloud DC development. Core technologies and common devices of cloud DCs will also be explained. A third session will introduce Python Programming Basics, with a focus on the history, features and application areas of Python language. Among other things, participants will learn the basic syntax and advanced use of Python as well as frequently used modules in its programming.

As a prelude to this “New Tech Discovery" training programme,WIDE is organising a webinar called “A world of opportunity on Thursday 15 April 2021 within the framework of the International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) “Girls in ICT day”. This webinar will give the floor to several women, including Pallavi Malhotra, Director of Huawei ICT Academy (Western European Region), to discuss existing opportunities in the field of ICT.
