Luxembourg's financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), has reported that, in Luxembourg, the total net assets of mutual funds and specialised investment funds amounted to €3,506.201 billion at 31 December 2015, compared to €3,589.671 billion on 30 November 2015, a decrease of 2.33% over one month, yet an increase of 13.29% over the past 12 months.
The drop od €83.470 million drop in assets reported by the Luxembourg fund industry for in December was described as the balance of positive net issuance up to €16.032 billion (+ 0.44%) and adverse developments in financial markets up to €99.502 billion (-2.77%).
The number of collective investment units (UCI) and specialised investment funds (SIFs) totalled 3,878, compared to 3,894 the previous month. 2,552 entities have adopted an umbrella structure, representing 12,782 sub-funds. Adding the 1,326 entities with a traditional structure, a total of 14,108 units were active in the financial centre at 31 December 2015.
