On Thursday 27 July 2023, two Luxembourgish siders were playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League, second qualifying round, first leg.

First up was Differdange at home to Slovenian side Maribor and were seconds away for a home win only for the visitors to score an equaliser six minutes into time added on.

Played at the Stade Municipal in Differdange, the home team took the lead on 25 minutes thanks to a goal from Castro, only for Jakupovic to hit the equaliser at the death.

With the home team having nine shots on goal and the visitors having ten, there was little between the two sides. However, Differdange received four yellow cards to Maribor's one.

And secondly, FC Diddeleng (Dudelange) were away to Maltese side Gżira. The visitors finished the game with just ten men after Roemer was sent off. The result was 1-0 to the home team who scored courtesy of goals by Lucas Macula (54 mins) and Scerri (79 mins). 

Scoreless at half-time, the Maltese side went 1-0 up nine minutes after the restart, with Roemer sent off for the visitors on the hour mark after receiveing a second card for a bad foul. 20 minutes later the home side extended their lead following the second goal of the game.

Apart from the two goals, the two sides were evenly matched, with the Maltese side having seven attempts on goal and FC Diddeleng having nine; and each side collected three yellow cards each.
