In the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League, Luxembourg's Differdange FC lost to Olimpija Ljubljana of Slovenia to end their European dream.

In the first leg match last week, played in Ljubljana, Differdange were gifted an own-goal after ten minutes, but conceded a goal to the home team mid-way through the second half, to leave the tie evenly balanced after the first (away) leg.

In Thursday's second leg, played at Stade Municipal de la Ville de Differdange, the Luxembourg side got off to a dream start with a goal by Bedouret after just eight minutes. Differdange were leading 1-0 at half time, and seemed to be on course for the second qualifying round, only to be beaten by the visitors who levelled the game to 1-1 with just ten minutes left on the clock, by Doffo. The game was forced into extra time, with the visitors beating the deadlock with a goal by Milovic right at the end of the first period of extra time.

While Differdange's European season is over, at least for another year, Olimpija Ljubljana will play Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe of Romania in the second qualifying round, with the first leg next week.
