On Tuesday 27 August 2024, Film Fund Luxembourg and Canada Media Fund announced the reopening of the Canada-Luxembourg Incentive for Co-Development and Co-Production of Audiovisual Projects.

The programme supports the co-development of television projects (fiction and animation), animated feature films and digital media projects, as well as the co-production of digital media projects (AR / VR / transmedia projects and new technologies) led by production companies established in both countries. New this year: projects already funded by Film Fund Luxembourg or the Canada Media Fund can apply for additional funding, as long as it is for different activities or a new creative phase not previously funded.

The programme budget for this year is approximately €530,000, with each Fund contributing half. The maximum contribution for each funded development project (television, animated feature film or digital media) is €60,000 while the total maximum contribution for each digital media project at the production stage is €330,000.

A committee composed of representatives from each Fund will assess all eligible projects based on a series of criteria, including cultural value, target audience, past achievements and feasibility.

All formalities for Luxembourg-based applicant companies to submit a project for funding can be found here:https://filmfund.lu/financement/ffl-fmc/.

The deadline to apply is 3 December 2024. Decisions will be announced in January 2025.
