Eurimages, the Cultural Fund of the Council of Europe, has approved €2,475,000 in funding for eight Luxembourg co-productions.

During its last session in 2021, the Board of Directors of Eurimages granted co-production financial support to 37 feature film projects for a total amount of €9,141,000.

The sum of €2,475,000 has been allocated to the following eight Luxembourg co-productions which were previously supported by Film Fund Luxembourg:

  • Allah n'est pas obligé, an animated film directed by Zaven Najjar and co-produced by Paul Thiltges Distributions (32.76%): €470,000. A co-production between France, Luxembourg and Belgium;
  • Fox and Hare, an animated film directed by Mascha Halberstad and co-produced by Doghouse Films (26.13%): €325,000. A co-production between the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg;
  • La colline parfumée, a live action film directed by Abderrahmane Sissako and co-produced by Red Lion (29%): € 470,000. A co-production between France and Luxembourg;
  • Le quatrième mur, a live action film directed by David Oelhoffen and co-produced by Amour Fou Luxembourg (35.71%): €360,000. A co-production between France, Luxembourg and Belgium;
  • Totem, a live action film directed by Sander Burger and co-produced by Tarantula Luxembourg (36.58%): €290,000. A co-production between the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany;
  • The Herd, a live action film directed by Milko Lazarov and co-produced by Amour Fou Luxembourg (16.89%): €240,000. A co-production between Bulgaria, Germany and Luxembourg;
  • Mother Mara, a live action film directed by Mirjana Karanovich and co-produced by Paul Thiltges Distributions (23.90%): €170,000. A co-production between Serbia, Luxembourg, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Slovenia;
  • Die Mittagsfrau, a live action film directed by Barbara Albert and co-produced by Iris Productions (20.71%): €150,000. A co-production between Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland.

For the year 2021, a total of twelve Luxembourg co-productions have benefited from Eurimages funding for a total amount of €3,850,000; Luxembourg's annual contribution to the Eurimages fund amounted to €422,054.41 that same year. The next session will take place in March 2022.
