On Tuesday 20 May 2025, Film Fund Luxembourg announced that it had marked the 2025 edition of the Cannes Film Festival with a strong and multidimensional presence.
This was driven by the visibility of its works in the official selection, the hosting of an active pavilion at the Film Market and strategic participation in the immersive programming. Guy Daleiden, Director of Film Fund Luxembourg, and Julie Gayet, President of the French regional fund Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire, also announced the launch of a new joint residency programme, designed to support the development of feature-length fiction or animated films, led by writer/director-producer pairs from the two partners' regions. The residency will host six projects, selected for their artistic ambition and co-production potential, and will take place in two sessions organised successively in Centre-Val de Loire (France) and Luxembourg. Participants will reportedly benefit from intensive support provided by experienced producers and experts in scriptwriting, financing, co-production and eco-responsibility, enabling each participant to structure their development strategy and effectively prepare their positioning on international markets.
Guy Daleiden stated: "The 2025 edition of the Cannes Film Festival confirms that Luxembourg is today a key location for European co-production. We are proud to be part of the European film industry and immersive creation. The Film Fund is proud to drive this momentum alongside its partners and to continue to broaden the horizons of our creators and open up more international opportunities for them”.
