Mitl (Medien- und IT-Netzwerk Trier-Luxemburg) has announced that they have extended the deadline for the 2. mitl short film competition until Wednesday 31 August 2016.

"Klappe die 2.", the mitl short film contest for creative filmmakers, will be extended; due to the summer holidays, the organising team has decided the deadline for submissions to the competition to be rescheduled until Wednesday 31 August 2016.

The competition is based on the motto: "Trier-Luxemburg: Heute schon erlebt?” Whether you are an amateur or hobby filmmaker, professional, individual or group, access to the theme and contest is open to all. There are also no requirements regarding the design of the content to the theme. Whether it is commercial, a mini film, a trailer or documentation, the creativity of the producers have no limits.

The competition works as follows: first, the public decides on a "TOP Ten- Auswahl". A final jury then determines the best three contest entries. The length of the films is limited to a maximum of three minutes. The efforts of the filmmakers will be rewarded. The winner will receive a prize of €2,000, second place will receive €1,000 and third prize winners will receive €500.

The best films will be broadcast in the TV porgramme OK 54 Bürgerrundfunk. In October the top 10 films from the competition will be shown in Broadway Filmtheater in Trier.
