On Friday 21 January 2022, the Luxembourg Film Critics Association (Association luxembourgeoise de la presse cinématographique, ALPC) held its annual general meeting at which it voted to elect their film of the year for 2021, from among the films officially released last year in one of the screening rooms of the Grand Duchy.
On the 3rd round of voting, Jane Campion's Netflix production "The Power of the Dog" was elected film of the year. The film, with Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons, plunges his spectator into the world of a psychological western. "The Power of the Dog" starts off as the story of two brothers, opposite in character, who run the largest ranch in the Montana Valley. However, when George decides to marry Rose, a young widow, Phil decides to do everything he can to the detriment of the bride.
