On Monday 31 March 2025, the organising committee of Printemps des Poètes – Luxembourg presented the official programme for the festival’s 18th edition, set to take place from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 April 2025.
The press conference was held at the Abbaye de Neumünster (neimënster) in Luxembourg-Grund, which will host this year’s opening evening on Friday 25 April 2025. However, the main poetry night – bringing together all participating poets – is scheduled to take place at the Forum da Vinci in Luxembourg-Ville (6 Boulevard Grand-Duchesse Charlotte) on Saturday 26 April 2025. The final day of the festival will take place in a more “intimate setting” at Galerie Simoncini in Luxembourg-Ville, with final readings and a closing discussion bringing together the participating poets.
Under the high patronage of Luxembourg’s Ministry of Culture and with the support of various embassies, including the Embassy of Ireland, Monday’s presentation also marked the introduction of a new director at the helm of Printemps des Poètes – Luxembourg: François Brouxel, a well-known lawyer in Luxembourg.
“The idea, once again, was to work with the international community present in Luxembourg. As you can see from the programme, each partner country involved in the organisation has selected a specific poet. It is not the organisers who directly invited the poets. The invitations came from the respective countries. Of course, we are in contact and fully aware of who is coming, but we are providing the overall organisation. The countries suggest the poets and we work together,” said François Brouxel.
The organisers also revealed the event’s official poster and the names of the eleven invited poets: Laura Accerboni (Italy); Esteve Bosch de Jaureguízar (Catalonia, Spain); Jane Clarke (Ireland); Isabella Feimer (Austria); Michal Habaj (Slovakia); Rodolfo Häsler (Spain); Blandine Merle (France); Maria do Rosário Pedreira (Portugal); Tereza Riedlbauchová (Czech Republic); Leo Tuor (Switzerland); Luce van den Bossche (Luxembourg).
“Luxembourg is an international place. We do a lot of finance, a lot of business, but we are also human beings and it's very important to be able to federate people through poesy and through something beyond business. And we are very happy to have all these countries represented, because where can you organise this kind of festival in Europe? There are not so many places where you are able to have eleven poets from various countries who come, including Luxembourg,” added François Brouxel.
The poetry readings will take place with musical accompaniment by Luxembourg musician Pol Belardi and American-Luxembourgish guitarist Greg Lamy.
