COOPERATIONS asbl has announced the first headline act for this summer's Festival de Wiltz.

British rock band Skunk Anansie will be performing live in the northern Luxembourg town on Wednesday 16 July 2025 at 20:00; doors open at 19:00.

For more than three decades, this 90s cult rock band has been delivering powerful, straightforward rock, with hits such as "Weak" and "Hedonism".

Founded in London in 1994, Skunk Anansie immediately attracted attention for their unique blend of alternative, rock and punk, combined with a dub influence that reflects their multicultural background. Led by British singer-songwriter Skin (Deborah Anne Dyer), the band is considered one of the biggest and most influential of its time.

The band's music has been celebrated for addressing political and social issues, breaking down barriers of racism and gender in rock. To date, the band has sold over five million albums worldwide.

The Festival de Wiltz first took place in 1953, making it Luxembourg's oldest festival. The organisers added that the main setting at Wiltz Castle has always provided a stage for lavish theatre and operetta premieres as well as for greats from pop and jazz culture. In recent decades, the picturesque town in northern Luxembourg has managed to attract stars such as Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Melody Gardot, Passenger and Birdy.
