On Wednesday 11 June 2025, the Cloche d’Or Shopping Centre in Luxembourg-Gasperich announced it will host the first edition of FESTI’FOOD, an event dedicated to healthy and sustainable eating, from Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 June 2025.

For three days, the shopping centre’s “Golden Square” will be transformed into a green and immersive playground featuring wooden vegetable gardens, grassy zones, a plant-covered selfie wall and educational booths.

Described by the hosts as “educational, interactive and community-driven”, FESTI’FOOD forms part of the shopping centre’s “Let’z Act!” corporate and social responsibility initiative and will feature workshops, events and discussions focused on sustainable and local food practices. The programme includes sensory workshops, quizzes, hands-on activities, demonstrations and tastings which are designed for people of all ages.

Cloche d’Or intends for the event to foster intergenerational dialogue around consumption habits, short supply chains, seasonality and anti-waste practices. A diverse range of local partners will be involved in the event, including producers, associations, institutions and social enterprises who will share practical approaches to better production, alternative consumption and waste reduction. These include the National Youth Service (SNJ) and its Good Food Loop programme, the Luxembourg mini-enterprise LeftLovers, which is committed to reducing food waste, Kilogram and its zero-waste workshops, Alavita, which introduces children to seasonal fruits and vegetables and Aurel & Axel, with their approach to local, sustainable and accessible agriculture. Luxlait and Ernster will also participate and Chef Alessio Zappala, president of the Luxembourg delegation of the Disciples d’Escoffier, will lead a participatory cooking workshop.

Organisers have announced that around ten school classes have been invited to attend educational workshops, which are designed to raise awareness among young people about the importance of eating well in a fun and interactive way.

Director of the Cloche d’Or Shopping Centre, Raphaël Bouchet, said: “With FESTI’FOOD, we reaffirm Cloche d’Or’s committed role as a place of local anchoring, transmission and awareness-raising, with the aim of establishing this event over time and making it, each year, a unifying space for promoting more responsible eating.”

Cloche d’Or has emphasised that, in keeping with the event’s values, all fruits and vegetables used during the activities which take place during the event will be donated to the Dudelange Wildlife Care Centre.
