Luxembourg's Nature and Forest Agency has called for witnesses following a suspected poaching incident in the north of the country.

The authorities noted that they had been informed, on the morning of Friday 3 November 2023, of a potential case of poaching involving a (female) red deer between Kaundorf and Büderscheid, on the "An der Buregaass" path, in northern Luxembourg. The animal was apparently killed with a firearm on the hunting lot located there.

As part of an investigation, the authorities ruled out that a person authorised to hunt in this lot had properly shot the game.

As such, the Nature and Forest Agency has appealed for possible witnesses to come forward with any relevant information related to this incident. Witnesses can contact the agency via tel.: 247-56645 or via email: infractions@anf.etat.lu.
