The OUNI cooperative has announced that it will has raised enough capital to open a second packaging-free organic grocery store in Luxembourg; the new shop is set to open in Dudelange in 2020.

Following the announcement in June of plans to open a second store in southern Luxembourg, OUNI, which stands for "Organic Unpackaged Natural Ingredients", has raised the sum of €100,000 needed to set up in Dudelange. The cooperative raised the necessary amount in just under five months of fundraising.

Julien Gannard and Jhemp Mousel, members of the Board of Directors of OUNI who are in charge of the steering committee for the opening of OUNI Dudelange, commented: "We will sign the lease in December to rent a super space on Rue de la Libération. We are very grateful to all the active members who participated in this funding, as well as to the City of Dudelange, who has given us their full support since the beginning of the project. Our ambition remains more than ever to bring bio [products] without packaging to the largest number of consumers, wanting to be able to make eco-friendly purchases closer to home ".

The hard work is not over, however. The cooperative now has to consider the development of the store itself, which will also require financial support from current and future partners. New public information sessions will be organised for this purpose in collaboration with the Transitioun Diddeleng initiative. The next sessions will take place, in Luxembourgish, on Wednesday 27 November 2019 at 20:00 at the Schifflange Multipurpose Hall and on Tuesday 3 December 2019 at 20:00 at the Kulturfabrik in Esch-sur-Alzette.

The first OUNI store opened in Luxembourg City in February 2016. The second store is planned to open in Dudelange in 2020.
