The Festival de Wiltz today announced it will be showcasing Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical comedy 'Cats', at 20:45 from Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July 2015.
The show was composed from 'Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats' and other poems by T.S. Eliot, and depicts the story of a group of cats called the Jellicles and their decision over which cat will rise to the 'Heaviside Layer' and return to a new life.
Since it first opened in the West End in 1981, 'Cats' has been watched in 26 countries on 5 continents, by over 50 million spectators. Its original London and Broadway productions earned it the 'Best Musical' award at both the Laurence Olivier and Tony Awards. 'Cats' also contains Andre Lloyd Webber's famous show tune 'Memory', which received the 1981 Ivor Novello award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
