Dancer of the Decade Lucia Lacarra will be joining internationally acclaimed stars of the Ballet world for the new edition of  'Gala des Étoiles', to be held on 14 and 15 May 2016.

After experiencing great success over the last three years, the Ballet Gala will be making a return to the Grand-Théâtre in Luxembourg City. The 2015 event featured Prima Ballerina Assoluta, Svetlana Zakharova as well as a host of ballet stars.

2016's Gala star, Lucia Lacarra, has been awarded the highest honours, including the Prix Benois de la Danse in Moscow in 2003, the Premio Nacional de Danza in Spain in 2005 and the accolade of 'Dance of the Decade' at the World Ballet Stars Gala in St. Petersburg in 2011.

The programme for the gala has been put together by Igor Zapravdin, pianist at the Vienna State Opera and Artistic Director of the Gala des Étoiles. The highlights of classical Ballet through to contemporary choreography will be celebrated with excerpts of choreographic performance rareties, as well as neoclassical and contemporary choreography by Angelin Preljocaj, Mauro Bigonzetti, Marius Petipa, Jules Perrot, Alexander Gorsky, ben Stevenson, Radu Poklitaru and others, framed by solo performances by Igor Zapravdin himself.
